Objective: Learn how to add gems to the central channel by creating a reference curve, placing the gems, and adjusting prongs and cutters for proper fitting.
Adding Gems to the Channel
To create a reference curve for placing the gems, start by going to the Curve tab and using the Extract Isocurve command.
Select the central seam of the channel.
Change the direction to V in the command bar.
Click on the central point of the channel surface.
Press Enter to create the isocurve.
Placing the Gems
Now, go to the Diamonds tab and use the Gems by Curve command.
Select the isocurve you just created as the reference curve.
Select the surface of the channel as the reference surface.
You will see the gems automatically adapt to the surface of the channel.
Leave the default parameters for the gems, as they fit the model well.
Adjusting the Prongs
Switch to the Prongs tab and adjust the following parameters:
Activate the prongs.
Set the Diameter to 0.6 mm.
Change the Distance to 0.9 mm.
Set Height over girdle to 0.1 mm.
Set Height under girdle to 0.1 mm.
Reduce the Manufacturing extension to 0.4 mm.
Adjusting the Cutters
Finally, adjust the cutter parameters as follows:
Size Top: 100%
Height Crown: 40%
Size Bottom: 80%
Height Drill: 0%
For the preset options, select the fourth option.
Press Accept to confirm the command. Before performing the Boolean operation, we will proceed to create the lateral channels.
