Bamboo is a gift to a jeweler — its segmented stalk gives you natural rhythm and swelling nodes to play with — but translating that organic bulge into clean, repeatable SubD is the real test. This cuff earns its life from a single sculpted node, copied down a straight line and then bent into a bracelet in one move. In this project you’ll shape that node, mirror it into a nine-segment band, bridge the pieces into one continuous stalk, and wrap the whole thing around an ellipse with SmartFlow before dusting the top with pavé.

Design bamboo cuff bangles using RhinoArtisan.
In this tutorial you will learn how to:
- Measure the ellipse to a 150.105 mm baseline, Pipe a 1.5 mm SubD segment and sculpt it into a bamboo node with inserted edge loops.

- Mirror the node into nine matched segments, Bridge them into a continuous band, and wrap it around the ellipse with SmartFlow by Curve.

- Split the upper section and set a mixed Automatic Pave field of 1.0, 0.8 and 0.6 mm stones, finished with prongs, cutters and a boolean pass.

By the end of this project, you’ll have the skills to model a sculptural SubD bamboo cuff from scratch.
