A claw setting grips each stone with slender, tapering prongs that look more grown than built — and lining ten of them up along a finger, each held identically, is a study in precision and repetition. Do it by hand and the graduation wanders; build it parametrically and the whole row stays consistent. In this project you’ll set ten graduated stones along a Spanish size 14 curve, each in a sculptural claw basket, then mirror the design, close the shank, and — the reward of parametric modeling — swap the center stone and watch the basket refit itself.

Design a claw prongs ring using RhinoArtisan.
In this tutorial you will learn how to:
- Build the placement geometry over a Spanish size 14 Curve using two temporary gems, a Gem Center reference point and an extruded construction surface.

- Distribute ten graduated stones along the curve with Advanced Gems on Curve at 0.45 mm spacing.

- Build a sculptural Claw basket with 1.23 mm prongs and a custom Profile 004 rail for the stones.

- Apply the basket to every gem with Apply Elements and Mirror the design around the whole ring.

- Close the shank bottom with projected and trimmed curves and finish with Cut by Ring Size — then swap the center gem and watch the basket refit itself.

By the end of this project, you’ll have the skills to model a sculptural claw prongs ring from scratch.
