Ring Curve & Reference Geometry

1. Create the ring-size reference curve

In the Shanks tab, select Curve, set the region and size — Spanish size 14 in this example — and accept. Everything in the project hangs off this curve.

2. Create the first center gem

From the Front view, open Gem Studio in the Diamonds tab and create a 3 mm round gem. Add it, accept, and switch the display to Shaded to see what you’re doing.

3. Position the first gem precisely

Use Transform > Move with Osnap enabled: snap the gem’s bottom point to the top of the curve, then raise it 0.8 mm with the Gumball.

4. Create and place the second gem

Add a second gem at 1.5 mm, rotate it 180° with the Gumball, and Move it to the bottom of the curve — then drop it −0.41 mm.

5. Create a center reference point and remove temporary gems

Run Gem Center from the Diamonds tab to create a reference point between the two gems — that point defines the ring geometry. With the point in place, both temporary gems can go.

6. Build the reference circle and surface

Draw a Circle by Diameter between the two reference points and move it to its own layer. Then select the inner circle and Surface > Extrude with Both Sides enabled — a construction surface the gems will orient against.
