Building the Ring Body

1. Download and prepare the reference curve

Download the 3DM file with the reference curve from the Downloads section below and open it. The curve is irregular and sits near the center axis — exactly what the design needs.

2. Offset the reference curve

Select the curve and, in the Curve tab, run Offset with a distance of 0.4, Both Sides enabled and Cap set to Round. Move the result to the reference curve’s layer and hide the original.

3. Create the base ring and adjust profile settings

Restore the four viewports and create a Classic Ring from the Shanks tab. Activate the lower profile, pick the curve profile that best matches the reference, and set the upper profile to be straight at the bottom and round at the top — with the lower profile identical to it.

4. Set ring dimensions and thickness

Give the upper profile a width of 12 mm and a height of 5 mm. Switch to the Type 2 thickness and set it to 1.4 to create a straight edge and reduce weight, then raise the lower profile’s comfort height to 0.5 mm and confirm.

5. Extrude the curve and subtract it from the ring

Extrude the curve with the Gumball until it fully overlaps the ring, then run Boolean Difference from the Solid tab: first the ring, then the extruded solid. The ring structure appears.
