Objective: Learn how to create the two side rails and how to clean up their control points.
Offset Both Sides
Show the four views again. Select the curve and click on the “Offset” command.

- Activate the Both Sides option in the command bar.
- Set the distance to
1 mm. - From the top view, click to create the two curves.

Select the new curves and change their layer so they’re easier to tell apart.
Reduce the Points with Fit
When you select the created curves you’ll see they have far too many points. To reduce them, select the two curves and click on the “Fit” command. Type 0.1 and press Enter.

Fewer control points mean cleaner surfaces later on.
