These docs cover RhinoArtisan 7.0, which is still in beta. The contents are provisional: features and pages can still be added, changed or removed before the final release.

Elements management
An Element is a parametric piece RhinoArtisan rebuilds rather than just draws: you set its dimensions and it regenerates. This page is about moving those between machines — one person builds the house shanks and bezels, the studio imports them once.
Import Elements By FileAdds somebody else's Elements to your collections, from their elements.json.- Export ElementsWrites your Elements out so someone else can import them.
What ships as an Element
RhinoArtisan comes with a library of them: the whole Shanks category, the building components under Diamonds — Baskets, Bezels, Peg Heads, Clusters, Halos — and Beads, Bails, Charms, Bangles and Profiles under Accessories.
Use them as they are, change one and save it back, or build your own from scratch and add it to the collection.
Where the library lives
Every Element parameter is stored in a single file, elements.json, in your
User Folder. That is the file that
travels: it is the whole library, not one piece of it.
Importing somebody else’s
Send elements.json across and the other person brings it in with Import
Elements By File, in the Open flyout of the
File tab.
Only the Elements they do not already have are added. Their own are left untouched, so importing a colleague’s library over yours cannot cost you anything.
